Prevention First, film festival join forces

Prevention First, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, has announced it has joined Two River Film Festival’s education program to raise awareness about violence and substance abuse in the media.

Using a curriculum developed in conjunction with the festival, Prevention First teaches children how to become better consumers of the media. According to Mary Pat Angelini, executive director, the festival will enhance its programs and enable parents and caregivers to think about the violent messages learned from the media, recognize the effect of violent media on society, and provide strategies to counterbalance negative impressions.
