MONTGOMERY — The Board of Education needed little post-election adjustments at Tuesday’s reorganization meeting, as Linda Romano and William Hyncik were unanimously selected to retain their respective titles of board president and vice president.
Both Ms. Romano and Mr. Hyncik said they looked forward to leading the Montgomery school system into another successful year and congratulated each other for jobs well done.
"When there’s an issue, we call Linda and they get addressed," said Mr. Hyncik.
Ms. Romano, in turn, thanked Mr. Hyncik for exemplary performance on the board.
"He does an excellent job and is always there when he needs to be," she said.
The two also noted that good communication with Superintendent Stuart Schnur has made the board’s job easier.
Acting as temporary chairman of the meeting, Business Administrator Jim Strimple swore in the three returning incumbent members to the Board of Education.
Reginald Luke, Susan Carter and Richard Specht were all re-elected to three-year terms at the April 15 school elections.
Cullen Nutt passed on his role as student representative to the board to fellow Montgomery High School student Paul Solomine.
"I’m looking forward to doing the best for the students and the community to make the next school year a successful one," Paul said.
In related business, Mr. Strimple announced that the Board of Education will hold only one meeting, instead of the usual two, in July, August and December.
