West Windsor event set for Saturday, May 10.

WEST WINDSOR After rain last Saturday canceled the township’s Arbor Day celebration, municipal officials are keeping their fingers crossed for sunny weather next week.
The Arbor Day celebration has been rescheduled for May 10 and will run from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Ron Rogers Arboretum, located across from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South on Route 571.
The Community Middle School Brass Ensemble will entertain, followed by a posting of the colors by local Boy Scouts. The national anthem will be sung by Trish Miele, and Rhea Rogers will lead all those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh will then read a proclamation and make remarks. Kevin Appelget, vice chairman of the township Environmental Commission, will also speak about the significance of Arbor Day.
Alexander Road resident Jennifer Crawford will read a poem titled "Trees."
Mr. Appelget and members of the township Shade Tree Committee will give instructions on how to properly plant trees and a Crown Wright Oak will be planted in the arboretum in memory of township resident Susan Herriott.
The Shade Tree Committee will also distribute tree seedlings and the celebration will conclude with more entertainment from the Community Middle School Brass Ensemble.
