HomeFront offers special Mother’s Day fund

Mother’s Day is a very difficult time for homeless mothers in Mercer County.
While other mothers reflect on their accomplishments, homeless women are painfully aware of their inability to provide a stable, happy life for their children. The homeless use what little money they have to buy food and provide basic necessities; they can’t afford baseball gloves, movie tickets or school pictures — all the little things that make childhood special.
HomeFront, a nonprofit organization that provides services for the homeless, has found a way to make Mother’s Day meaningful for homeless mothers. HomeFront has created a Special Fund For Mothers, dedicated to helping these moms provide their children with some basic items that so many of us take for granted.
This Mother’s Day, homeless mothers will be able to take their kids to a baseball game or buy them a pair of sneakers or jeans. The will also enjoy a Mother’s Day picnic in the park, generously sponsored by Mathematica Policy Research of Princeton.
Money for the special fund for mothers comes from community members who make a donation to HomeFront in their mother’s name. There is no better way to show your mother how much you care.
If you would like to honor you mother by contributing to this fund, call (609) 989-9417, ext. 22. HomeFront will send your mother (or another special person in your life) a beautiful, custom Mother’s Day card to acknowledge the donation.
   Happy Mother’s Day!
