WEST WINDSOR A man and woman were seriously injured Sunday morning when the motorcycle they were riding went out of control and hit a guardrail on Route 571, police said.
Cesar Banegas, 34, of East Windsor was operating the Suzuki motorcycle with Jenny Sanchez, 36, also of East Windsor, as his passenger.
Police said Mr. Banegas lost control of the motorcycle at 9:55 a.m. Sunday for unknown reasons while driving westbound on Route 571 just west of Glengarry Way. The motorcycle veered off the roadway and hit a guardrail and bridge railing, police said.
West Windsor emergency personnel rushed Ms. Sanchez by ambulance to the trauma unit at Capital Health System’s Fuld Campus. Mr. Banegas was taken by state police medical helicopter to Cooper Hospital University Medical Center in Camden.
"Both were admitted with serious injuries and are still in critical condition," said township Patrolman Thomas Tarr.
The accident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Patrolman Tarr or Officer Marylouise Dranchek at the West Windsor Police Department at (609) 799-1222.
