Help students raise money for research!
By: Mae Rhine
West Amwell students are working hard to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fund-raiser, Relay for Life.
Last week, we asked everyone to support the relay in some way, either as a participant or as a donor.
Here’s another way to help. Support the kids’ fund-raisers this weekend and next.
So far, a bingo night brought out more than 150 people. And students have sold more than 200 West Amwell Wildcat hats; the wildcat is the school mascot.
Let’s keep up the good work.
Buy a hoagie for $5 Friday from 3:15 to 6 p.m. at the school on Route 179. If you don’t make it then, get one the next day between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the school.
While you’re there, get your car washed Saturday at the school for $5. With all the pollen in the air, vehicles do need a good going-over. The car wash will be held by the sixth-graders at the school from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Next weekend, take the family out to a spaghetti dinner Saturday, May 17, at the West Amwell firehouse from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $8 for adults and $5 for children 5-12.
Nearly everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. But progress is made every day, and fund-raisers like these help organizations such as the American Cancer Society put your money to work to find a cure.
