Camille M. Persichilli
Camille Mellana Persichilli, 88, of Hopewell Township, died Sunday at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Casorzo Mon Ferrato, Italy, she came to New York City with her parents, Cesare and Maria Mellana, when she was 5. After marriage, she resided in Trenton and Ewing Township, and for the past nine years, in Hopewell Township.
Mrs. Persichilli retired in 1977 after 25 years with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Ewing. She tutored students at St. James Catholic School during her retirement. She was a eucharistic minister and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and Infant of Prague Society, all of St. James Church. She also was also a member of St. James Senior Citizens’ Club.
Daughter of the late Cesare and Maria Allaria Mellana, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roger Persichilli; a son and daughter-in-law, John Roger and Marie Persichilli of Hopewell Township; a daughter, Lorraine Arcaro of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Laura Kale and her husband Tom, Leah Persichilli, Jason, Jamie and Lauren Arcaro, and Jennifer and Victoria Folk; a brother and sister-in-law, August and Jean Mellana of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Severio and Anita Persichilli of Pofi, Italy; an uncle, Antonio Faustini; and nieces and nephews, Assunta, Domenico, Benedetto and Anna Maria.
The funeral was held Wednesday from the Brenna Funeral Home, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Church, Trenton.
Burial was in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. James Church, 29 E. Paul Ave., Trenton, 08638, or to a charity of donor’s choice.
Dorothy V. Bauer
Dorothy Vandermark Bauer, 88, of Short Hills, died on April 25, in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Hopewell, she moved to Short Hills 60 years ago.
Wife of the late George H. Bauer, she is survived by her daughter, Jane Drew; her son, George H. Bauer; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Fort-nightly Club of Summit and the Women’s Club of Millburn. A registered nurse, Mrs. Bauer was the head nurse for the Westfield Orthopedic Group for 20 years before retiring in 1976. Previously, Mrs. Bauer worked for the Westfield Medical Group. From 1935 through 1938, she was a nursing supervisor in the maternity ward at Brooklyn Hospital.
Funeral services were held May 3 at the United Methodist Church of Summit.
