Letter: Celebrating the Senior Center

To the editor:
I am writing this letter to invite the public to the South Brunswick Senior Center this month in hopes to increase awareness to the broad spectrum of programs and services we offer older adults age 55 and over.
Inquire for yourself, family members, friends or reach out to a neighbor. We are located on Route 522 in the municipal complex.
Why now? May 11-17 is National Senior Center Week. This year’s theme is "Senior Centers Add More to Life" and we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the first senior center.
On Tuesday, the mayor read a proclamation will be read honoring this occasion. We will have many special events over the month and we welcome everyone to stop by, attend a program, take a tour and become acquainted with the staff and the services the center offers. We continually strive to meet the changing needs of the new generations of older adults and ensure optimal quality of life through physical and emotional well being and active participation in community life. We have something for everyone.
Our township is fortunate to have a beautiful facility filled with at least 150 active participants daily, a dedicated staff and volunteers and the generous support of our mayor, manager and Township Council, especially our liaison Carol Barrett.
Please call (732) 329-4000, ext. 682, for hours and event information and I look forward to meeting you.
