Loren S. Nelson, 71, of Kendall Park, died Wednesday, April 30, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Spotswood, he resided in South River before moving to Kendall Park 30 years ago. Before his retirement, he was the owner and operator of Nelson Home Improvements in Old Bridge for 35 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
His son, Loren S. "Butchie" Nelson, died in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores Muckin; his daughters, Lorraine Silowka of Kendall Park and Elizabeth K. Nelson of Longwood, Fla.; his grandchildren, Patrick Bernard, Kelly Silowka and Mackenzie Bernard; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordain, Austin and Brandon.
Private services were held on Friday, May 2.
