MANVILLE Michael Koroly Jr. died Thursday, May 8, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born in Freeland, Pa., he resided in Pennsylvania until settling in Manville over 50 years ago.
He served in the United States Marines during World War II.
He was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veterans of Foreign War Post 2290 in Manville.
Mr. Koroly retired from John’s Manville Corporation in Manville where he was employed as a factory worker for over 40 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Mr. Koroly was a member of the Raritan Valley Amateur Radio Club and at one time was in charge of the Emergency Management System in Manville.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough.
His wife, Mary D. (Stepka) Koroly, died in 1995.
Surviving are a son, John Michael Koroly, of Manhattan, N.Y.; a daughter, Rosemarie Koroly of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Charles of Bridgewater; three sisters Agnes Koroly and Helen Barna of Freeland, Pa., and Anna Lozito of Long Island, N.Y.
Funeral services were held May 10 from the Fucillo and Warren Funeral Home, Manville, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church.
Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
