Vivian Lee Huley
COLUMBUS Vivian Lee Huley, 80, died April 22 at the home of her daughter in Southampton.
She was born in Columbus and resided in this area before moving to Hudson, Fla., over 35 years ago.
She was employed in the medical field as a home health aide until 1999.
The wife of the late Leonard J. Huley Sr., she is survived by three daughters, Betty Anne Poinsett and Linda M. Pierce, both of Southampton and Judy Bird of Bordentown; a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard J. Jr. and Sharon Huley of Michigan, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at noon in the Columbus Cemetery with Chaplain Ted Taylor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Huber Moore Funeral Home of Bordentown.
Carolyn Finn
BURLINGTON Carolyn (Jayne) Finn (nee Lynch), 85, of Burlington, died May 1 at Buttonwood Hospital in New Lisbon.
Born and raised in Florence, she lived there before moving to Burlington 20 years ago.
She was a retired sales clerk and had worked for various area retail stores. She was a homemaker and loved fashion and going shopping.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. and Patricia Finn of Langhorne, Pa., and Robert F. and Ann Finn of Pitman; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lynch of Florence; and four grandchildren, Kelly, Sean, Abigail and Daniel Finn.
A graveside service was held on May 5 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington. Interment followed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2004 Sproul Road (Suite 208) Broomall, PA 19008.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence.
James Carnival Sr.
FLORENCE James Carnival Sr., 90, of Florence died May 4 at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly.
Born in Capracotta, Italy, Mr. Carnival came to America in 1925 and settled in Burlington where he learned the trade as a butcher. He moved to Florence 49 years ago and owned and operated Jim’s Quality Market for 20 years with his wife, Virginia.
He was then employed by the Burlington County Weights and Measures Department and retired as a superintendent after 17 years of service.
Mr. Carnival was a Life member of the Burlington Elks Lodge and was a former reserve police officer for Burlington City. He was a past president of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, former member of the Harry S. Truman Democratic Club of Florence Township, and a former member of both the Florence Township Zoning Board and the Florence Township Planning Board. He was also a founding member of the Florence Township Recreation Commission and was a member of the Good Neighbors Senior Citizen Club of Florence. Mr. Carnival also enjoyed woodworking and doing fix-it chores.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Paglione Carnival; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Rita Carnival of Florence, and James Jr. and Linda Carnival of Roebling; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel A. Carnival of Florence, Denise and Andre Vargas of Lawrenceville, Dean and Jennifer Carnival of Voorhees, Loretta and Martin Sizmur of Moorestown, James III and Belinda Carnival of Eastampton, Stacy and Patrick Hurley of Florence and Jason Carnival of Roebling. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Carnevale of Florence; extended family members Maria, Tim, T.J. and Ashley Sadar of Florence Township; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held on May 9 from the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Assumption Church in Roebling. Interment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Burlington.

June Fysz
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP June Fysz, 80, died May 8 at Capital Health Systems at Fuld, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Huntington, N.Y., she lived most of her life in the Trenton-Bordentown area.
She was a certified hospital attendant and until her retirement in 1984, had been employed by the former Donnelly Memorial Hospital for over 16 years. She owned and operated Sprague’s Deli in Yardville for many years.
She was a member of the Donnelly Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years and is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She is the daughter of the late George and Ruth Noyes Robedee and was predeceased by a sister, Frances Robedee; three brothers, George, Richard, and Peter Robedee; a daughter, Roberta Corkhill; her first husband, Clark D. Sprague, who died in 1958; her last husband, Edward B. Fysz, who died in 1964, and she is survived by one son, John Tuohy of Florida; four daughters, Patricia Young of Browns Mills, Alice Ross of Los Molinos, Calif., Gail Sabo of Bordentown Township, and Barbara Sprague of Red Bluff, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family and cremation followed at the Ewing Crematorium, under the direction of the Joseph P. Horan Funeral Home of Trenton.
Final interment will be in the family plot at Groveville Cemetery at their convenience.
Julius J. Chanti
ROEBLING Julius J. Chanti, 88, of Roebling died May 9 in St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
Mr. Chianti was born in Gerce, Hungary, the son of the late Stephen and Roza Chanti.
Mr. Chianti resided in Roebling for 34 years, formerly of LaGorce Square for eight years.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired crane operator, employed by John A. Roebling (C.F.&I.) Roebling with 42 years service. Mr. Chianti was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church of Roebling.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Simkovich Chanti. He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark S. Chianti and Kurt M. Chanti of Roebling, John and Charlotte Chianti of Phoenix City, Ala.; one grandson, one great-grandson, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Burial will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery, Roebling.
Mildred R. Zolna
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP Mildred R. Zolna, 79, of Bordentown Township died Sunday at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton.
She was born in Philadelphia and resided most of her life in this area. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown, the Golden Age Club and the Bordentown Township Senior Citizens.
The wife of the late Michael S. Zolna, she is survived by; two sons, Michael J. Zolna of San Jose, Ca., and Paul J. Zolna of Bordentown, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, with burial following in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Nancy R. Tafrow
HAMILTON Nancy R. Tafrow, 88, died May 7 at the Mercerville Center.
Born in Trenton, she was a resident for most of her life before recently moving to Hamilton.
She retired in 1971 as head baker from Trenton Central High School Cafeteria and all the Trenton Junior schools.
She was president of Clover Leaf Senior Citizens Club for 15 years, a member of the Madonna di Casandrino Society, and she served as treasurer on the executive board at McCorristin Square.
Predeceased by her parents, Gaetano and Anna Russo Chianese; her husband, Stephen J. Tafrow, and siblings, Chester C., Anna, Antoinette, and Helen M. Chianese.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresann Tafrow of Bordentown Township, and Antoinette and Ron Vecchiolla of Hamilton; two sisters, Josephine DeAngelo of Trenton, and Mary Ingoglia of Ewing Township; three nieces, Maryann Massari, Amelia Tafrow and Charlotte Tafrow; two nephews and spouses, Wesley and Ruth Gronikowski, and Bill and Joanne Gronikowski; several great nieces and great nephews; great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and an adopted son, Dr. Gerald Abelow.
The funeral was held on Monday at the Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Ave., Trenton. Funeral Mass was offered at St. Joachim Church, Butler St., Trenton.
Burial followed in the Fountain Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Eggerts Crossing Rd., Ewing Township.

Viola L. Oltarzewski Sobon
LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – Viola L. Oltarzewski, 83, died Friday at home.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Sobon lived most of her life in Trenton and Lawrence Township. She was employed for the past eight years as a sales associate with the Burlington Coat Factory in Lawrence Mall. She was previously employed for over 25 years at the former S.P. Dunham in the Lawrence Mall.
Daughter of the late Stanley & Josephine Kotowska Oltarzewski, wife of the late Edward Sobon, grandmother of the late Eddie Conroy, sister of the late Joseph Oltarzewski, Stella Palinski, Josephine Vender & Jean Rezner.
Survived by her daughter and son-in-law Natalie & Louis Brottman of Lawrence Township; two granddaughters, Stacey Conroy of Trenton; Alicia Conroy of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters & two brothers-
in-law, Irene & Leon Bogon of Bordentown Township; Wanda & Alfred Walczak of Florida; one brother & sister-in-law Edward & Rosemary Oltarzewski of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave., Trenton.
Funeral Liturgy was celebrated in St. Hedwig’s Church.
Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing Township.
Florence Casole Venanzi
HAMILTON SQUARE – Florence Casole Venanzi of Hamilton Square, formerly of the Villa Park section of Trenton, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Mercerville and was a long time volunteer fundraiser for Deborah Hospital. She was formerly employed by Camelia’s Beauty Shop on West State Street in Trenton for 40 years and Antoinette’s Beauty Salon of Ewing Township for several years.
She was employed as the senior hairstylist and beauty consultant at Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home in Trenton for over 20 years.
Widow of Emilio (Red) Venanzi and daughter of the late Luigi and Nancy Casole, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-
law Gerry and Dennis Sparano of Hamilton Square; two brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Julie Casole of Columbus and Eugene Casole and Dr. Julia Allen of Drums, Pa.; two sisters and one brother-in-law Mary Casole and Julia and Pat Chiacchio of Trenton; two sisters-in-law, Mary Latini and Mildred De Bonis, both of Trenton; two grandchildren, Dennis and his wife Lorraine Sparano of Skillman and Sunny Sparano Esquire and her fiance Bill Aumenta Esquire, both of Cranford; one great-granddaughter, Zofia Sparano; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral Liturgy was celebrated Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 E. State St. Extension, Mercerville.
Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Arrangements were under the direction of Chiacchio Southview Home, 990 S. Broad St., Trenton.
