SBHS girls golf team posts winning record

Dual matches are hard to come by in New Jersey girls golf, but the South Brunswick High team made the most of what it could find.
The dual match portion of the Vikings’ girls golf season was completed on Monday, and SBHS finished on the plus side thanks to a 258-278 victory over Peddie in the season finale at Bunker Hill.
Brittany Boyd carded a 47 to lead the Vikings, while Priyanka Chanchani and Kerri Tracy each checked in with a 50. Lisa Nicolaison was right behind at 51 and Danielle Eige had a 60.
The victory left the Vikings with a 4-3 record in their second season.
"It was a good year," coach Jaymee Boehmer said. "Our scores have gotten better and we’re sending three kids to the states."
Boyd, Tracy and Chanchani will all be competing in the individual state tournament at the Seaview Marriott in Absecon next Thursday. Chanchani, who missed a few matches due to class trips, used a late rush to gain the necessary qualifying scores and will make her first trip to the states.
"Brittany and Kerri both went last year, so I’d like to see them improve their scores," Boehmer said. "Priyanka is going for the first time, so I’m hoping she can shoot her best."
Chanchani is the defending Greater Middlesex Conference champion. This year’s GMCT will be at Bunker Hill.
