Princeton Real Estate Group celebrates 50 years

"Matthew,
The

Henderson family of Princeton Real Estate Group recently celebrated 50 years
of moving people in Princeton. Pictured are: Matthew, Peggy, John, Christina
and Judson Henderson.

In grand style before some 200 guests and celebrants at the Nassau Club, the Princeton Real Estate Group enjoyed wine, cocktails and hors d’ouvres, mixed with lively real estate chatter about the past 50 years.
The reminiscing covered such famous early practitioners from
Helen Van Cleve and Timothy Sheehan to Bill Boozer and John T. Henderson Sr. who
founded the three generation family company in 1953 — the real cause for
all the festivities.
Another popular topic of the evening included how changes in
advertising and marketing have kept pace with the times. Small, in-house ads and
back pocket listings have given way to full-page ads, cluttered with multiple
houses and look-alike formats.
Peggy Henderson made it clear that the group ads are known for
personality and humor, not just sameness, and they use varied layouts for increasing
readership and effectiveness.
Jud and Matthew Henderson, the current mavens now, together
with Jud’s wife, Christina, announced that after a scratch start just a year and
a half ago, the new Princeton Real Estate Group has reestablished itself as a
leader once again. As of April 15, the Princeton Real Estate Group had nearly
50 listings in Princeton Borough, Princeton Township, and its environs. This is
a remarkable performance considering the increased competition from the new mass-production
conglomerates and their out-of town management.
The roots of the Princeton Real Estate Group date back to early
1953 and John T. Henderson Sr., whose original office was located at 116 Alexander
St. in this college town. The company has thrived continuously since those early
days and now enters the new millennium with a third generation of Hendersons actively
managing this boutique. Today, the Princeton Real Estate Group represents an old-fashioned
concept of individualized one-on-one listing and marketing, specializing in residential
brokerage in the high end — $200,000 to 5,000,000. The Group’s professional
agents apply this individualized approach when helping buyers as well enabling
them to make important decisions with confidence.
The newest office, opened in summer 2001, is located at 199
Nassau St. in downtown Princeton Borough, and is outfitted with all of today’s
state-of-the-art equipment.
Real Estate is the Group’s only business; the Group does not
sell insurance, cars, mortgages, home improvements, or do title work. They list,
market, and sell real estate. For more information, call the Princeton Real Estate
Group at (609) 924-1000.
The anniversary party was a grand affair enjoyed by all. Everyone
agreed that the next 50 years should be just as exciting and rewarding.
