Josefa Schillinger Palinkas, 74, died Friday, May 16, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Germany, she came to the United States in 1951. She lived in Perth Amboy, Woodbridge and Edison prior to moving to Monroe six years ago. Before her retirement in 1979, she was the co-owner of Swift Cleaners in New Brunswick. She was a member of the Quilter’s Guild of Clearbrook.
Her husband, Frank, died before her. She is survived by her children, Frank and John Palinkas, Lorraine Wojick and Margaret Miller; many relatives in Germany; and her grandchildren, Walter Wojick, Tayler Miller-Garcia, Cynthia Palinkas, Keith Miller, Mary Contreras and Tyler Palinkas.
Burial took place at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, N.J. 08863. Arrangements were under the direction of The Brunswick Memorial Home in East Brunswick.
