Audrey Bozarth, Frances Giba, Bernard Weiss Sr., Rita Obert, Joseph Pingitore, Thelma Lee Early

Audrey Bozarth
    MERCERVILLE — Audrey Bozarth, 79, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. Born and raised in Florence, Miss Bozarth lived in Florence for many years before moving to the Mercerville area where she remained most of her life.
    She was a retired employee of Griffith Electrical Supply Co. in Trenton and was also employed later as a clerical worker for the state Division of Pensions and Benefits in Trenton.
    Daughter of the late George and Lillian Bozarth, she is survived by several cousins.
    Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence. The Rev. John Orr, pastor of the Florence United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Florence.
Frances K. Giba
    HAMILTON SQUARE — Frances Kalafut Giba, 84, died May 13 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
    Born in Bitumen, Pa., she was a longtime Trenton/
Hamilton Township resident.
    Mrs. Giba was a member of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, and a life member of its senior citizens club. She retired from General Motors, Fisher Body Division, in 1974, after 32 years of service.
    Daughter of the late Martin and Helen Novata Kalafut and sister of the late Frank, Edward, William and Paul Kalafut, Mary Yaros and Helen Tokoly, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John A. Giba, and is survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen M. Giba of Ewing and Mary Sergeant of Pennington; two nephews and a niece, Donald Yaros of Columbus, Joseph of Atlantic City and Joyce and her husband Frank Zsenak of Hamilton; a niece and her husband, June and Raymond Kauffman of Orlando, Fla.; two great-
nephews and their spouses, Raymond and Erica, and Todd and Heather Kauffman; and many other nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, great-
great nieces, and great-great nephews.
    Funeral services were held Monday from the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. A Funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Gregory the Great Parish Center, 4690 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
    Interment was in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
    Contributions may be made in Mrs. Giba’s memory to the St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, 4690 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
Bernard A. Weiss Sr.
    Bernard Anthony "Pete" Weiss Sr., 81, died Friday at his residence in Mercerville.
    Born in Mercerville, he was a lifelong resident of the town.
    Before his 2001 retirement, Mr. Weiss was a maintenance man at the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in West Trenton for 12 years. Prior to that, he worked for 42 years at the Pennsylvania Railroad (currently Conrail) as a rate clerk.
    Mr. Weiss was a communicant at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of the Hamilton B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 2262.
    Mr. Weiss was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a corporal, after serving in World War II from 1942-1945. He was involved in the Rhineland and Central European campaigns.
    An avid gardener, he was also known for his ability to bring a smile to his friends and family with his witty jokes and light-hearted comments.
    Mr. Weiss is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna T. (Buzby) Weiss; a son and daughter-
in-law, Bernard A. Jr. and Barbara Weiss of Wrightstown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and John Tobiasz of Hamilton Square, and Diana and Clifford Craddock of Florence; one sister, Gertrude Burkhalter; seven grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 East State St. Extension, Mercerville.
    Interment will follow in Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
    Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Colonial Home.

Rita D. Obert
    HAMILTON — Rita D. Obert died May 15 a few weeks short of her 86th birthday.
    Daughter of Mary Amberg and Joseph F. Obert, she was a lifelong resident of the Bromley section of Hamilton Township.
    She was predeceased by her sister, Mary E. Obert. Her surviving family includes her goddaughter, Margaret Cartlidge Creegan of Smithville, and her first cousins: Catherine Obert Hess of Hamilton, Dorothy Obert O’Donnell of Robbinsville, William Obert of Robbinsville, Rose Quigley Groh of Whiting, Mary Alice Quigley of Hamilton, Audrey Obert Miller of Kissimmee, Fla.; Margaret Obert Dissinger of Newtown, Pa., and Gallus J. Obert of Fairless Hills, Pa.
    Her special friends for over 65 years are from The Satellite Card Club: Dorothy DeLozier, Jeanne Layton, Margaret and Maurice Muehleisen, Ethel and Joseph Schuler and Marion Wilson. In addition, she was blessed with a large circle of second and third cousins, many godchildren, and numerous friends in the United States and in Ireland.
    Ms. Obert graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1934, and was a life member of the Cathedral Alumni Association. In 1982 she retired as a private secretary in the Engineering Division of the DeLaval Turbine Co. with more than 35 years of service.
    She volunteered her skills in the parish offices of St. Joseph’s Church, Trenton, and of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Trenton, in addition to the Mount Carmel Guild in Trenton. She especially enjoyed playing the piano and singing the old songs.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Mercerville. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Olden Avenue.
    Donations in her memory may be made to the Building Restoration Fund of the Church of the Sacred Heart, 343 South Broad St., Trenton 08608.
Joseph A. Pingitore
    HAMILTON — Joseph A. Pingitore, 53, died May 16 in Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, Pa.
    Born in Trenton, he resided in this area for his entire life.
    Mr. Pingitore was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
    He was in sales for many years before becoming the proprietor of Web 1st Ltd., specializing in computer analysis/
programming.
    Mr. Pingitore was a former member of Enterprise and Mercerville Fire companies, and belonged to Ready, Aim, Fire Gun Club in Bristol, Pa., and the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church.
    Son the late Joseph J. and Frances M. Damiano Pingitore, he is survived by his wife, Betty Shary-Pingitore; a step-daughter, Kimberly Shary of Hamilton; a step-son, John J. Shary of Hamilton; a sister-in-law and brother-
in-law, Fred and JoAnn Wright of Hamilton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Helen Mastrangelo of Hamilton; three closest cousins and their spouses, Maryann Festa and Jim Laity of Vienna, Va., Greg and Terri Perri of Florence, and John and Beth Perri of Maple Glen, Pa.; and aunts, uncles, and other cousins in Delaware.
    A Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Gregory the Great Parish Center, 4690 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
    Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton Township.
    Contributions may be made in Mr. Pingitore’s memory to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
    Arrangements were under the direction of the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton.
Thelma Lee Early
    COLUMBUS — Thelma Lee Early, 79, died May 15 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly.
    Born in Ahoskie, N.C., she lived in Trenton for 32 years before moving to Columbus in 1995.
    Daughter of the late Gertha Daniels and William Raby, wife of the late Jacob G. Early, mother of the late Michael A. Early, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline M. and W. Keith Culbreth of Ewing; grandson Keith M. Culbreth of Ewing; a sister, Vera Fisher of Columbus, and other relatives and friends.
    The funeral was held Wednesday at St. Phillips Baptist Church, Hamilton.
    Burial will be at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
    Arrangements are by the Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
