Red Cross in appeal for Disaster Relief Fund

The American Red Cross of Central New Jersey is making a plea for the community to help replenish the Disaster Relief Fund to an adequate level so that the Red Cross can continue to respond immediately to the critical needs of communities devastated by disasters.
"The Disaster Relief Fund is dangerously low both locally and nationally," says Kevin Sullivan, CEO, American Red Cross of Central New Jersey. "As we head into the most active part of the disaster season, it’s vital that the fund is healthy and viable to cover any large disasters and the hundreds of smaller disasters that the Red Cross responds to each year."
The Disaster Relief Fund is a working fund that needs continued replenishment when disaster strikes — it is not a reserve.
