Carl Hoitela

   Carl E. Hoitela, 74, of Kendall Park died Tuesday, May 27, at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
   Mr. Hoitela was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Jersey City for 20 years and Hazlet for 22 years. He moved to Florida in 1988 and moved to Kendall Park in 2002. He retired as a truck driver in 1988 for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America for over 35 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Merchant Marines.
   His wife, Rosemary Schreck Hoitela, brother, William R. Hoitela, and sister, Shirley Hughett, are deceased. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Carl E. and Colleen Hoitela of Howell; his daughters and son-in-law, Peggy Mahala of Riverview, and Betty and Paul Selingo of Kendall Park; and his grandchildren, Candice Mahala, Cheryl Schutzer and Cathy and Cory Selingo.
   Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (today) from M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road in Monmouth Junction. Funeral services will be private.
