Spring flea market
    Saturday, May 31 — The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a Spring Flea Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school hall and school yard at 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown.
    Inside tables are $10. Outside spaces are $5. Vendors will feature jewelry, collectibles, cosmetics, linens, toys and more. Refreshments will be available.

Knights of Columbus

Atlantic City trip
    Sunday, June 1 — The Knights of Columbus 570 is sponsoring a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Bus will leave St. Mary’s Church at 4:30 p.m. for a four-
hour stay at the casino. Cost is $15 per person, with $14 back from the casino. For reservations call Bob at 298-5530.
    There will not be any trips in July and August.
Widows and Widowers

of Burlington County
    Sunday, June 1 — Monthly social and dance at McGrath Hall, Holy Assumption School, Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Light refreshments will be served and music provided by a DJ from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Admission is $4 for members and $5 for guests. For information call 499-0819 or 298-4475.
St. Mary’s PTA

scholarship award
    St. Mary’s School PTA is accepting nominations for the 2003 College Scholarship Award. Two $250 scholarships will be awarded to a young woman and young man who graduate from high school in 2003 and are graduates of St. Mary School. The qualifying winner must exemplify Catholic values, along with scholastic achievement and community service. Nominations to be submitted by June 2 to St. Mary’s PTA, Scholarship Nomination, Elizabeth Street, Bordentown 08505. Include the student’s name, address, school attending and phone number.

Strawberry Festival
    Friday, June 6 — The First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown will hold its annual Strawberry Festival on from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on June 6. This wonderful tradition, which is held at the Farnsworth Avenue church, offers fresh strawberries, cake, ice cream and refreshments under the lights in an old-fashioned community atmosphere.
    There will be games, prizes and face-painting for the children, while adults can enjoy great food and friendship. The cost is only $4 for adults and $1.50 for children, with games only 25 cents a piece. Tickets are purchased at the door.

Training Program
    Saturday, June 7 — The Diocese of Trenton and St. Francis Medical Center are sponsoring this workshop at All Saints School, 510 High St. Burlington, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to identify, train and equip volunteer laypersons with skills to perform pastoral ministry services under the authority and guidance of the church. Bordentown

citywide yard sale
    Saturday, June 7 — sponsored by the Downtown Bordentown Association, this citywide yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain date is June 8. The entire town is invited to participate. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Out of town residents can sell their items on the sidewalk on Farnsworth Avenue. Free of charge. For information call 298-1424.
Children’s Day
    Sunday, June 8 — The First Baptist Church of Bordentown will celebrate Children’s Day Sunday, June 8, with a special program during their Sunday School hour at 9 a.m. "God’s Creative Wonders" is a unique ministry that will bring a collection of exotic animals to our church to examine God’s creation. During the 10:15 a.m. worship the children will sing, graduates will be recognized and the youth will participate in the worship service.
