UPPER FREEHOLD Jerry "Pop" Seip Sr., 66, died Monday in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born in Trenton on March 10, 1937, to parents Joseph and Jessie Seip, he was raised in Hightstown and lived for 20 years in Millstone before moving to Cream Ridge 12 years ago.
Mr. Seip served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Midway during the Korean War, and was stationed in various places during that time. His hobbies included hunting, the outdoors, and crafts. "He will always be remembered."
Predeceased by his father, Joseph Seip, and his sister, Charlotte Streeter, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Ann "Chicken Lady" (Bowers) Seip; his mother, Jessie Seip of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven children and their spouses, James and Janice Seip of Millstone, Jerry Jr. and Ruth Seip of East Windsor, Cindy Seip of South Brunswick, Timmy "Butch" Seip of Portland, Pa.; Tom Seip of Hightstown; Ricky Seip of Hightstown; Tammy and Andrew Kallimanis of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren, Nicolas and Dylan, Jake, Christopher, Michael, Jamie, Melissa, Samantha and Christopher, Brandi and Kera, Nicolette and George; his twin brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Delores Seip of Hightstown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, at 11 a.m. from the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township.

Robert ‘Bob’ Marshall Newhart
HAMILTON Robert "Bob" Marshall Newhart, 92, died Sunday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in East Stroudsburg, Pa., on July 5, 1910, he spent most of his life in Hamilton.
In January 1980, Mr. Newhart retired from Newhart’s Express, which he owned and operated with his brother for 46 years. He was a faithful member of Christ Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years, serving as an elder, clerk of session, trustee, Sunday School superintendent, teacher and lay preacher. Mr. Newhart was a long-time member of Mercer County Steel Quoit League, and was most recently named the league chaplain. He was former member of the Mercer County Christian Endeavor. During his younger years, he was an avid bowler and fisherman.
Mr. Newhart will be lovingly remembered by two daughters and a son-in-law, Bobbi and Bob Sutton, and Marion E. Newhart, all of Hamilton; a granddaughter and her husband, Stacey and Tom Forrester of East Windsor; a brother and sister-in-law, H. Edward and Marion M. Newhart of Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Gladys Barger of Burlington; several special nieces and nephews; and many devoted and faithful friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday from Christ Presbyterian Church, 746 Klockner Road, Hamilton.
Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township.

Helen F. Douglas
LAWRENCE Helen F. Douglas, 76, died May 21 at The Medical Center of Princeton.
Born in Hightstown, Mrs. Douglas lived in the Lawrenceville area for 48 years.
An active member of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church, Mrs. Douglas served on the Deaconess Board, she served as recording secretary for the Stewardess Board No. 2 and was a member of the Senior Choir. She also served as a member and secretary of the Hightstown Hi-Liters as well as a member and secretary of the Lawrence Township Senior Citizens Club No. 3.
Mrs. Douglas retired after 30 years of service with the State of New Jersey, Department of Motor Vehicles.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William H. (Bill) Walker Sr. and Elsie H. Walker and her sister, Elsie M. (Mazie) Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Sterling M. Douglas; daughters, Joyce A. Bell of Bordentown and Charlotte D. White of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michael, Allen Jr., Adrienne Bell and Nicole Douglas; six great-grandchildren, Xavier Bell, Chanelle and Lauren Chester, Brandon Douglas, Naasir and Justice Bell; and one godchild, Michael Jennett. She also is survived by her three brothers, John E. Walker of Columbia, S.C., William H. Walker Jr. of Princeton, and James A. Walker of Hightstown, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at St. Paul A.M. E. Zion Church, 308 N. Willow St. The Rev. Keith L. Tillet officiated.
Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.

Laura Ann (Johnson) Troutman
WASHINGTON Laura Ann (Johnson) Troutman, 58, died on Monday, May 19.
Born on July 22, 1944 in Montgomery, Ala., Ms. Troutman was a lifelong resident of Windsor. She was employed by the state of New Jersey, Department of Labor, for more than 30 years.
Surviving are one sister, Virginia Muse of Allentown; two brothers, Cleveland Johnson Jr. of Willingboro and Nathaniel Johnson of Windsor; her goddaughter, Lena Renee Johnson of Trenton; her godson, Stephen Johnson of Windsor; one bother-in-law, Roger Muse of Allentown; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Johnson of Willingboro and Dell Johnson of Hightstown; 12 stepchildren, Eugene of Atlanta, Diane of Morrisville, Pa., John Jr., Sylvia, Althea, Nicole, and James of Browns Mills, Jean, Janice, and Joyce of Trenton, Joann of Hightstown, and Danny Peyton of Trenton; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her best friend, Ann Watkins of Trenton.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Ave.
Interment was at the Ewing Cemetery.

Alfred A. Ceraso
WASHINGTON Alfred A. Ceraso, 76, died May 23 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.
Born in Princeton, he resided in Princeton until 1983 and then moved to Hamilton.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. Mr. Ceraso retired in 1983 from the Princeton Post Office after 35 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Ceraso was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling with the Hamilton Senior Bowling League.
Son of the late Maria and Luigi Ceraso, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances Sabatino Ceraso; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Lamont A. Fletcher of Pennington; a son, Alfred A. Ceraso Jr. of Ewing; two sisters, Julia Carrier of Hamilton and Lydia Hulbirt of Princeton; one grandson, Nick Rounds of Pennington; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Gregory the Great Parish Center, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
Helena J. Korol Kolasinski
HAMILTON Helena J. Korol Kolasinski, 78, died May 22 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.
Born in Miasto Lopuszno, Poland, Mrs. Kolasinski came to the U.S. in 1951 and was a Trenton and Hamilton Square resident since 1960.
She was employed at the Peddie School of Hightstown for several years. She was previously employed with the Hearst Magazine Company in New York City. During World War II, Mrs. Kolasinski served in the Polish Air Force in England assigned to the 300th Polish Airforce Squadron. She performed volunteer work at the Association of Retarded Citizens, Mercer Unit.
Daughter of the late Boleslaw and Helena Sznurowna Korol, she is survived by her husband, Jan G. Kolasinski of Hamilton Square; her son, Gregory A. Kolasinski of Hamilton Square and other relatives in Poland.
The funeral was held on Tuesday at the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets.
Funeral Liturgy was celebrated in the Church of the Holy Cross with Rev. Leszek Tymoszuk officiating.
Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Brandon C. O’Reilly
HAMILTON Brandon C. O’Reilly, born in Queens, N.Y., on March 31, 1918, died at his Mercerville residence on May 21.
Mr. O’Reilly was a graduate of Allentown High School and Trenton School of Industrial Arts. He was formerly employed by Panelyte, Thiokol, and Burlington Testing Company.
He was a 25-year member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir, past president of the Mercer County Holy Name Society, a member of the Allentown High School 50 Plus Alumni Association, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Mercerville.
His wife of 53 years, Caroline Braun O’Reilly, died May 22. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eileen and Robert Taylor of Mercerville, Patricia and Michael Marcucella of Billerica, Mass., and Maureen O’Reilly of Princeton; two sons, Philip O’Reilly and John O’Reilly, both of Mercerville; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary O’Reilly of Hightstown; a grandson, Michael Taylor of Mercerville; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 East State Street Extension, Mercerville.
Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.

O’Reilly
HAMILTON Caroline Braun O’Reilly, born in Hightstown on Nov. 6, 1924, died at her Mercerville residence on May 22.
Mrs. O’Reilly was a graduate of Cathedral High School of Trenton, Class of 1942, and a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, and was an active member of the PTA of Our Lady of Sorrows School. She also was a member of the St. Francis Alumni Association.
Wife of the deceased Brandon C. O’Reilly, who died on May 21, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eileen and Robert Taylor of Mercerville, Patricia and Michael Marcucella of Billerica, Mass., and Maureen O’Reilly of Princeton; two sons, Philip O’Reilly and John O’Reilly, both of Mercerville; three grandchildren, Michael Taylor of Mercerville, Michael Marcucella Jr. and Deanna Marcucella of Billerica, Mass.; a great-grandson, Noah; a beloved sister and brother, Mary O’Connell of Avon, and William Braun of North Easton, Mass; sisters-in-law, Linda Braun of North Easton, Mass., and Ruth Braun of Roosevelt; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary O’Reilly of Hightstown; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. O’Reilly’s Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday along with her husband’s Funeral Mass, from Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 East State St., Extension, Mercerville.
Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
