Mardi Considine of Hopewell died Saturday at home.
A lifelong writer and photographer, she was president of her own marketing firm, Considine Communications, from 1988 until her diagnosis with cancer in 2001.
The recipient of numerous Jersey Awards, Jasper Awards, NJ Art Directors Club awards and Astra Awards for Creative Excellence, she received the Crystal Prism Award from the National American Advertising Federation in recognition of her contributions to the industry. She also was honored by NJ Community Advertising and Marketing Association (CAMA).
A member of Trinity Church, Princeton, where she served as an acolyte, she also was on the boards of the Dryden Ensemble and Family and Children’s Services (FACS), with more than 10 years of service to each organization.
Born in Princeton, she attended Stuart Country Day School and graduated from Emma Willard School. A graduate of Kirkland and Hamilton College, she began her career in New York, studying copywriting at the school of Visual Arts and The New School and working for Delacort Publishing and Wells, Rich, Greene. She returned to Princeton in 1984 to start an advertising agency for Princeton University Press and later founded Considine Communications.
Daughter of Margaret Burlee Considine of Princeton and the late Norbert A. Considine, she is survived by brothers Kevin H. Considine and his partner Gilbert Dumas of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Brian B. Considine and his wife Pam Posey of Los Angeles, Calif., and their sons Liam and Caleb, and Norbert A. Considine and his wife Eileen of Loudonville, N.Y. and children Wylie, Peter and William.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church in Princeton at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
