The Monroe Thunder U10 girls travel softball team improved their record to 3-0 this week with two more wins. In the first contest, Monroe hosted the South Brunswick Vikings and came away with a 14-2 victory. Brittany Scott and Megan Mascali combined to pitch Monroe to the win, allowing just three hits while striking out 10. Courtney Baron picked up three more RBIs, while Brianna Malvone, Geralyn Troncone, Mascali and Scott had two RBIs apiece. On Tuesday, Monroe traveled to Edison to take on the Edison Angels and came away with a 15-0 victory. Tricia Powell celebrated her 11th birthday by reaching base twice and picking up an RBI. Morgan Widener and Courtney Baron were 2 for 2, each with a double. Baron added four RBIs. Katie Douglas, Elaina Hansen and Sarah Wilson all had big nights at the plate. Brittany Scott went all the way, giving up just three hits while striking out 10.

The St. Bart’s Buffalos Pop Warner cheerleading, flag and contact football is now holding registration for children ages 5-14 in the East Brunswick, Milltown and surrounding areas. The South River parks and Recreation Commission will be hosting a weeklong U.K. Elite Soccer Camp from July 28-Aug. 1 from 9 a.m.-noon for boys and girls ages 5-14. The fee for the camp is $125. For more information or to register, call the recreation office at (732) 254-4412.

Play Ball Sports, 712 Ginesi Drive, Morganville, will host a Baseball Summer Camp conducted by Matt Belford, the head coach at Bloomfield College. The camp is for players of all skill levels ages 6-16. The camp will be held over four weeks, July 28-Aug. 1, Aug. 4-8, Aug. 11-15 and Aug. 18-22. The daily sessions are 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Players can sign up for one week or all four weeks. The cost for any one week is $169, with savings for a second, third or fourth week. Play Ball Sports is also hosting a Softball Summer Camp, one week only, July 14-18. The camp, for ages 9-16, will be under the direction of Long Island University head coach Roy Kortmann, the five-time NEC/NCAA Coach of the Year. The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association’s June 26 outing. The game played was member/guest regular game, callaway scoring. In first place was the team of Edythe Gutman and Patty Pry, followed by Jean Ertle and Sue Kelner, and Terri McAllister and Hannah Alawaig. Joyce Nicolaison, Lisa Nicolaison and Harriet Donnelley had fewest putts with 17.

The Cranbury Little Falcons, a girls’ U12 team (U13 in the fall), is looking for a couple of players for the upcoming fall season. There are openings for a goalie and field players.
