Children’s day
to be held at fair

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — Children (and their parents) seeking a day full of inexpensive, summertime fun are invited to Children’s Day on July 25 at the Monmouth County Fair. Everyone 17 and under enters free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Children’s Day, anyone can buy a $13 wristband for unlimited midway rides (weather permitting).

Children’s Day is packed with things to do from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., including:

• Kiddie Tractor Pull (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) where children can pedal and pull just like the "big guys."

• Kids Games and Races — try some of the games children played in the 1890s.

• Make-A-Boat (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) is your chance to build and race a simple model boat made from provided recyclable items provided at the fairgrounds.

Children and adults will enjoy the Scheer’s Lumberjack Show (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m.) as well as the Robinson’s Racing Pigs and Pig Paddling Porkers ( 11:30 a.m., 3 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 8:30 p.m.).

Come and learn more about Monmouth County’s agriculture, parks and 4-H Association at the 2003 Monmouth County Fair. The fair runs July 23-27 at the East Freehold Park Showgrounds on Kozloski Road between Route 33 and Route 537.

The fair gate will open July 23-24 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; July 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; July 26 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and July 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call (732) 842-4000 or download a copy of the full 2003 Monmouth County Fair schedule at www.monmouthcountyparks.com.
