Parent likes job students did on local government day

As a parent of one of the Marlboro High School students who was selected (recently) to participate for a day as a Marlboro elected official such as mayor, Township Council and government leadership role, I would like to applaud the students and the coordinators who were involved with this annual event.

I happily attended the "mock" town council meeting which the students flawlessly ran at the culmination of a day in which they got a crash course in local government problem solving. I wish more of the parents of these bright students had been there to witness what I did.

The issues they addressed were real and important to Marlboro residents and the students were asked to do more than act or "role play." It was an educational and fun experience, and a highlight of this year’s social studies curriculum.
