Mighty Oak Players, the community theater of Monroe Township, will hold auditions for It’s a Wonderful Life Aug. 14 and 18 from 7-10 p.m. at Monroe Township High School, 1629 Perrineville Road, in the lecture hall (use main entrance). Phoenix Productions will host "Dance Challenge 2003" auditions Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth St., Red Bank. These auditions will offer an opportunity for dancers to compete for a chance to work with some of the area’s top choreographers, be showcased in West Side Story, win scholarship money, and learn how to break into Broadway, as they meet some of Broadway’s "gypsies." Entertainment Network of New Jersey and New Generation Pictures will hold a Hollywood East casting call for a docudrama dealing with women’s goals and relationships today. Needed are ac­tors and extras, women and men, ages 25-55, non-union performers. The casting call will be held Aug. 18, 7-10 p.m. at Harry’s Roadhouse, Cookman Avenue off Main Street, Asbury Park. The Shrewsbury Players will hold auditions for Moon Over Buffalo Aug. 20-21 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Presbyterian Church House, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. A case of four females and four males, ages 20 and up, are needed. Director is R. Michael Kay. Production dates are three weekends, Oct. 17 through Nov. 2. Marlboro Players will hold open auditions for its winter production of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Jerry Donis. Musical direction will be by Christynn Carduno and Sean Morris, and choreography will be by Sharon Firestein. All roles are open. Needed are male sand females, ages 7-70. Male dancers for the Russian number are also needed. Auditions will be held at the Marlboro Middle School, Route 520, Sept. 16 and 18, 7 p.m. for ages 7-10, 8-11 p.m. for all others. Monmouth Civic Chorus will hold auditions for new members Sept. 2, 9 and 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 65 W. Front St., Red Bank. The chorus rehearses every Tuesday from 7:30-10 p.m. at the church. Interested singers are invited to attend one of the first rehearsals. New Jersey Chamber Singers Children’s Chorus (grades 4-8, girls and boys with unchanged voices) and Youth Chorale (grades 8-12) will hold auditions during the first week of September. The Children’s Chorus rehearses on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m., beginning Sept. 18, and tuition for the semester is $150. The newly formed Youth Chorale rehearses on Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m., beginning Sept. 17, and tuition for the semester is $175.
