NORTH BRUNSWICK — McDonald’s is recognizing local real estate firm owner Gloria Zastko for her lifelong commitment to the community.

On Aug. 5, the McDonald’s New York Tri-State Owners and Operators Association recognized Zastko, owner of Gloria Zastko Realtors on Route 130, with the Big Mac Award in a ceremony held at the McDonald’s on the corner of Georges Street and Milltown Road at 11 a.m.

"It is important to give back to the soil in order to keep it fertile," Zastko said.

As owner of the only independent real estate agency in town for the past 13 years, Zastko said, "I attribute my continuing success to the hard profile I have in the community."

Zastko, who has lived in North Brunswick for the past 72 years, said she and her family have always been actively involved in community affairs.

"I’ve worked with the PTA, the Woman’s Club, the American Cancer Society and Catholic Welfare," Zastko said. "I’m also making contributions for the new Ronald McDonald House for children with cancer."

For over 30 years, Zastko has been serving the community of North Brunswick in the real estate business.

"Known for its customer service and attention to detail, her full service agency has consistently been rated the best agency serving the town," Adam Salgado of the McDonald’s Corp. said in an Aug. 5 press release. "Zastko, like her firm, is committed to helping her customers achieve their real estate dreams."

Mayor David Spaulding recognized Zastko’s dedication to helping the township and nominated her for the award.

Among all of her other accomplishments, Spaulding said Zastko sponsored the production of the new township seal for the courtroom.

"Anytime the township needs anything, they know they can turn to me," Zastko said.

Zastko is one of the first recipients of the McDonald’s Big Mac Award, created in honor of the Big Mac’s 35th birthday to recognize individuals and family-run businesses with longstanding service and dedication to the community.

Zastko resides in the township with her husband, Anthony. They have two children, Lisa of Sea Girt and Andrew, who is now her partner at the real estate firm.

She is also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren.
