RICHARD A. VREELAND, 64, of Millstone died Aug. 8 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he had lived in the New Dorp section of Staten Island before moving to Millstone five years ago. Mr. Vreeland was a civil engineer for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey before his retirement in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Christopher’s Roman Catholic Church, Staten Island. He was a member of the Bella Vista County Club, Marlboro. Mr. Vreeland is survived by his wife, Elaine Vreeland; a son, Richard Vreeland of Queens, N.Y.; a daughter, Sandra Petrizzo of Weddington, N.C.; two sisters, Imogene Buzzi of Colonia and Arlene Skratt of Staten Island; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
