Sgt. Warren G. "Bud" Cornell

Mr. Cornell, 82, of Eatontown died Oct. 22 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Queens, N.Y., he had resided in Eatontown for the past 46 years. Mr. Cornell was an employee of the Department of Defense Police, Fort Hancock, before his retirement. Prior to that, he was with the U.S. Army, serving during the Pacific Theater during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring with the rank of sergeant first class. He was a member of St. James Memorial Episcopal Church, Eatontown. He was a 48-year member of the Masonic Lodge; a member and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 244 for 37 years; the Scottish Rite-Valley of Central Jersey; the Shriners of Trenton; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10129, Oceanport. He was an avid Yankees fan. He was predeceased a brother, John E. Cornell; and a sister, Marion Jaegar. Mr. Cornell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie M. Reiss Cornell; a son, William R. Cornell of Eatontown; a daughter, Marcia Cornell Anderson of Scotch Plains; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at St. James Memorial Episcopal Church, Eatontown. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. Florence Marie Faustmann

Mrs. Faustmann, 87, of Howell died Oct. 25 at home. Born in Newark, she resided in Colts Neck for 40 years before moving to Howell in 1998. Before her retirement, Mrs. Faustmann was a clerk at Prudential Insurance, Newark, and a sales associate at various retail stores for several years. She attended Colts Neck Reformed Church, where she also taught Sunday school. She was predeceased by her husband, August George Faustmann, in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Faustmann Sr. of Penns Park, Pa., and Christopher L. Faustmann of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet. Arrangements were by C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia.

Meade Robertson

Mr. Robertson, 48, of Green Island, Toms River, died Oct. 13 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Long Branch, he grew up in Highlands where he attended Henry Hudson Regional High School. Mr. Robertson was a chef at the Brielle Inn for 10 years, and was a landscaper/heavy equipment operator for LuMar Landscape Contractors/Calgo Garden, Toms River, for the past 20 years. A former resident of Brick, he was a member of the Green Island (Toms River) Community Association and participated in Toms River East Little League. Mr. Robertson enjoyed gardening and music, especially the Blues, and played the guitar. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Robertson; his son, Conner; his mother, Edith Robertson of Highlands; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Sylvia and William Schloeder of Atlantic Highlands, Susan and Herb Brooks of Jamestown, N.Y., Sheri and Richard Briggs of Sugar Grove, Pa., Nedra Warren of Boston, and Myra Robertson of Highlands; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Rob and Makie Robertson, and Roger and Richard Robertson, all of Highlands; as well as many nieces and nephews. The Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, was in charge of arrangements.

Anthony Arnold Hawley

Mr. Hawley, 53, of Long Branch died Oct. 26 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brazil, he resided in Highlands, Middletown and Long Branch most of his life. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, Long Branch. Prior to that, he worked at Bendix Aviation, Eatontown, for several years. He was predeceased by his mother, Airtes D. Hawley; and a sister, Suzette M. Hawley. He is survived by his father, Dudley Hawley of Middletown; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia L. and Christopher L. Davis of Middletown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in Brazil. A funeral service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
