Business Briefs Free workshop offered by local psychotherapists

Tinton Falls Courtyard by Marriott, 600 Hope Road, will host a workshop on understanding a spouse or partner Feb. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

The free workshop will be given by Morganville psychotherapists Denise Silverstein, Cathy Noblick and Stacey Rose. The women specialize in marital and family therapy and publish a community newsletter, "The RelationSHIP."

Red Bank YMCA names new branch executive

The Community YMCA, Red Bank, has announced that Neptune resident Ramona Johnson has joined its staff as branch executive of The Count Basie Achievement Branch, Red Bank.

Johnson grew up in Red Bank, received a four-year athletic scholarship to Monmouth College, West Long Branch, and graduated in 1996. She is currently teaching in the Long Branch School District, and will leave that position this month to assume her position at the achievement branch.

The YMCA has also announced that Katrina Parrish, who has been with the "Y" since 2001, was recently presented with the New Jersey Minority Achiever Award. The Neptune resident has been a teen program director at the Red Bank YMCA and, most recently, interim director at the Count Basie Achievement Branch.

The award recognizes and honors individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds for outstanding professional accomplishments and extensive community involvement.

Toy drive at Elements

to end Dec. 16

Elements, The Lounge, 1072 Ocean Ave., Sea Bright, in conjunction with Ronald McDonald House and the child life services program at Monmouth Medical Center, both Long Branch, will host a holiday toy drive through Dec. 16.

Needed items include clothing, baby rattles, diapers, action figures, coloring books and crayons, books for toddlers, gift certificates to movie theaters, compact discs for teens, new stuffed animals, books, bicycles for teens, infant blankets, small dolls, blocks, and sweatshirts for teens.

Donors will receive a raffle ticket for a grand prize to be given away Dec. 16. All donations will be delivered Dec. 17. For more information, call Elements at (732) 841-1100.
