Holiday show for families Dec. 20 at library
Actor Richard Stillman will present a "Holiday Troubadour" show Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan. Stillman will sing carols and songs for Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, all accompanied by storytelling, step dancing and folk instruments. This seasonal celebration is recommended for families with children age 4 and up, and will be held in the lower gallery meeting rooms 1, 2 and 3. Admission is free, and no prior registration is required.
Bowling fund-raiser to feature pro bowler
Howell Lanes, Route 9, Howell, will host an afternoon with Santa, Mrs. Claus and PBA Bowler of the Year Parker Bohn III, Dec. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. The fund-raising event will feature unlimited bowling, entertainment, snacks, games and prizes. Each child will have an opportunity to have his or her photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. All proceeds will benefit the Children’s Tournament of Champions, a nonprofit organization that provides programs of physical fitness, sports training and athletic competition for learning disabled and physically challenged youngsters. Program to introduce girls to Scouting
A program designed to give girls a taste of the many "faces" of Girl Scouting will be held Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Monmouth Mall, Eatontown, in the Community Room. Four two-hour sessions will be offered. The program, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," is for ages 5-11, and non-members are welcome. Girls may register as individuals and at the door. Adults do not have to stay; qualified staff will facilitate the program. Crafts and snacks will be available. The cost is $7 per session.
