The Oak Tree Volunteer Fire Company successfully coordinated and hosted another Thanksgiving feast for the residents of the Inman-Grove senior citizen building in north Edison. As in past years, our volunteer firefighters, along with their families, joined together with others to prepare and serve a special Thanksgiving meal.
As chairman of this community outreach project, I would like to extend my thanks to all the individuals who worked so hard to make this event such a success. Our volunteer fire company is thankful for the donations we received. ShopRite food stores and Entenmann’s Bakery deserve a special thank you for their support. This assistance allowed us to spread good will and cheer to our senior citizen friends at the Inman-Grove complex. Without this program, many of the residents may not have been able to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner or spend time with others on this holiday.
Our volunteers know first hand the spirit of Thanksgiving is even more meaningful when you reach out and share your blessings with others. We are grateful that we had the ability to host this rewarding event and, with the continued support from others, we will carry on this tradition next year.
