Due to last week’s snowstorm, Southard School’s Holiday Market Madness has been rescheduled for Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place in the school’s gym on the left side of the building at 155 Kent Road in Howell, near Wal-Mart. A variety of vendors and specialty crafters will be on display including At Home America, Pampered Chef, Party Lite, Home Interiors, Tastefully Simple, Southern Living, Discovery Toys, Purely Gourmet, Avon and many others. There will also be homemade baked goods, a children’s boutique and a photographer on hand for holiday portraits. Many items are available wrapped and ready for gift-giving.
Real winter wonderland
postpones school’s event
Due to the recent snow storms, the "Winter Wonderland" at the Switlik School, 75 West Veterans Highway, Jackson, has been rescheduled. The event will take place Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the gymnasium. Highlights will include gifts and crafts, photos with Santa, poinsettias, holiday wreaths and refreshments for sale. Free gift wrapping will be available.
Allaire Village announces
Christmas Lantern Tours
The Historic Village at Allaire State Park, Route 524, Wall, will present its annual Christmas Lantern Tours of the 1830s ironworks company town Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m. Stops will include the church, the blacksmith shop, the carpenter shop and the manager’s house. The bakery and general store will both be open for holiday refreshments and shopping by candlelight. The family mansion is one of the highlights of the tour.
The tours will last about 90 minutes and will start at the visitors center. Groups of 30 people will depart every 15 minutes. The cost is $9 per person. Tickets are limited; advance purchase required. Those interested may purchase tickets at the visitor center at the village office or by telephone. Call (732) 919-3500 for details.
