The Seton Hall women’s cross country team raced on Nov. 22 at the ECAC/IC4A Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. Graduate student Kaneisha Campbell, of Lakewood, recorded a 78-th-place finish with a time of 21:06.
Lindsey Gallo, a senior at the University of Michigan, had her best-ever finish at the NCAA Division I National Cross Country Championships. Held on Nov. 24 in Waterloo, Iowa, the home of the University of Northern Iowa, the Howell High School graduate finished 75th in a field of more than 250 runners. Gallo posted her best time of the championships, 21:05.3 for 6,000 meters, in helping the Big 10 champion Wolverines finish fourth nationally (232). Stanford won the women’s crown with 120 points.
Earlier this season, Gallo earned All-Big 10 First Team honors for the third straight year.
Parker Bohn III of Jackson and Professional Bowler’s Association (PBA) Hall-of-Famer Johnny Petraglia of Manalapan, will be participating in the Children’s Tournament of Champions’ Second Annual Christmas Party at Howell Lanes. on Dec. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. Each child at the event will get a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a gift from Santa, live entertainment and unlimited bowling. The Battle of Monmouth Freedom, a U11 boys team, capped off their undefeated Monmouth-Ocean Soccer Association championship season by capturing the Howell Holiday Tournament Blue Division with a perfect 4-0 record.
