Necessities for the heart, 28 S. Main St., Allentown, will host a "Share Your Heart" Brighton trunk show and fund-raiser 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14. Layne Dornblum, representative for Brighton, will present a sneak peek of spring designs by Brighton.

A percentage of the day’s proceeds will be donated to two local children’s charities — the John W. Petrella Jr. Scholarship Fund for Struggling Students, and Angels’ Wings Inc. of Trenton.

The Petrella family of Millstone designated a scholarship fund in honor of their late son, John W. The purpose of the foundation is to provide academic assistance, tutoring and/or counseling to students who find school too challenging, boring or simply resist authority. James R. Marhold of Manalapan has been named executive director of the New Jersey Unit of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D), Princeton. Marhold brings more than 10 years of nonprofit management experience to RFB&D, including positions as director of mental health services for Volunteers of America of Greater New York and director of residential services for Hudson Association for Retarded Citizens. He holds a bachelor of arts from Duquesne University, a master of arts in government/nonprofit administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and is pursuing his doctorate in business administration from North Central University.

RFB&D, a Princeton-based nonprofit, is an educational library for students who cannot read standard print effectively because of a disability, according to a press release. Founded in 1948, RFB&D serves more than 117,000 students from kindergarten to graduate school and beyond with its library of 93,000 recorded textbooks. More than two-thirds of RFB&D’s members have learning disabilities such as dyslexia.

Marhold will oversee the operations of RFB&D’s New Jersey Unit, which is home to one of 31 recording studios throughout the nation that records material distributed by the national library. Nearly 500 volunteers record texts, provide audio production support and assist with the unit’s fund-raising efforts. Volunteers also help the unit provide educational outreach services to schools throughout the state. More than 5,000 New Jersey students are RFB&D members.

The New Jersey Development Authority for Small Businesses, Minorities’ and Women’s Enterprises has announced the spring class schedule and registration for its Entrepreneurial Training Institute. ETI is a business training program that has graduated nearly 900 New Jersey entrepreneurs since 1992.

The eight-week course is designed to help new and existing entrepreneurs in New Jersey prepare a business plan, learn how to manage the day-to-day operations of a business, and understand the ins and outs of obtaining financing. Classes are located in 11 class locations throughout the state, including Lakewood, Trenton and North Brunswick. Classes are held weekly from 6-9 p.m.

Participants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate, attend at least six of the eight sessions, complete all homework assignments, complete a business plan, and present their business plan to a panel of business professionals for feedback.

Sally Ann Mollica of Marlboro has been hired by the Southern New Jersey/Shore Region Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to manage its Monmouth County office and coordinate activities in the Monmouth-Ocean area. Mollica is a former councilwoman of Marlboro and served as director of consumer affairs for Monmouth County. She has worked with several nonprofit organizations such as The Arc of Monmouth, Cancer Care, the Red Cross, Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts, and Marlboro Senior Citizens. Her new responsibilities include cultivating volunteer support and coordinating the chapter’s black-tie gala and Leukemia Cup Regatta.

J.H. Cohn LLP announced that William Lewis, certified public accountant and a partner in the firm’s Eatontown office, has been inducted as secretary/treasurer of the Board of Trustees of CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, for a two-year term. In this position, Lewis will serve as the chairman of CentraState’s Finance Committee, which is responsible for the analysis and approval of the annual budget, the review of the monthly financial statements and presentation of the management reports to the board, as well as the supervision of investment funds. In addition, the finance committee, chaired by Lewis, oversees the Audit/Corporate Compliance, Investment and Insurance subcommittees.

Lewis delivers all facets of financial, accounting, tax and consulting services to health care providers in the New York metropolitan area as well as throughout the country. Four tenants have made multi-year lease commitments at Manalapan Cor­porate Plaza, a new 86,750-square-foot office building at 195 Route 9 south in Manalapan. The announcement was made by Joseph Sarno of Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey Inc.

Taylor 9 South Associates LLC, a partnership that includes Dalton Proper­ties and New York Giants running back Ron Dayne, completed construction of the two-story building on a speculative basis in August.

Countrywide Home Mortgage, a resi­dential mortgage producer and a division of Countrywide Financial, has leased 6,700 square feet on the first floor of the building. The firm relocated its area sales office to the building from another local property. World Savings, a full-service consumer financial services company, has opened a new office in the building. The firm leased 4,600 square feet on the building’s second floor.
