Home Away From Home Academy, Matawan, will hold its science fair for students in grades K-2 Jan. 31 from noon-3 p.m. at the Don Quixote Inn, 762 Route 34, Matawan. Featured will be projects on conducting weather, electricity and earth science experiments.
The Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, recently received a $9,500 Sunfield Foundation grant to create a permanent Monmouth County Holocaust survivor archive. The archive will feature Holocaust survivor testimonials in written and electronic formats, which will be available as part of the center’s educational materials. Noreen Bodman, Middletown, president of The Jersey Shore Partnership, Sandy Hook, has been elected to the board of directors of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association and American Coastal Coalition.
The Coalition is an advocacy and lobbying group for the nation’s coastal states on shore protection issues in Washington, D.C. The nonprofit Jersey Shore Partnership is an independent partner of New Jersey Business and Industry Association.
Bodman became president of the Jersey Shore Partnership in 2002. The Partnership acts as an advocate, legislative and regulatory, state and federal, with respect to those issues that are unique and important to Jersey Shore coastal communities.
PNC Bank in conjunction with Stop & Shop recently opened a new Stop & Shop supermarket at 1137 Lloyd Road, Matawan. The supermarket branch of PNC will offer banking seven days a week, an ATM machine, and full-time staff. During the grand opening weekend, PNC Bank gave a $1,000 check to Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School.

Cohn LLP announced that William Lewis, certified public accountant and a partner in the firm’s Eatontown office, has been inducted as secretary/treasurer of the Board of Trustees of CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, for a two-year term. In this position, Lewis will serve as the chairman of CentraState’s Finance Committee, which is responsible for the analysis and approval of the annual budget, the review of the monthly financial statements and presentation of the management reports to the board, as well as the supervision of investment funds. Dr. Michael D. The three-day symposium emphasized diagnosis, treatment and management of the glaucoma patient; the management of the dry eye patient; updates of new therapeutic medications for the patient with an ocular allergy; refractive surgery updates with the newest technologies; examination of the pediatric patient with clinical considerations for contact lens wear from birth through adolescence; and exploring wave-front technology and incorporating it in the new custom Lasik procedure.
