Vincent Amendola

   Lt. Vincent Amendola, 59, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick after a long illness.
   Born in Brooklyn, he lived in the Spotswood/Monroe area for many years. He had a 21-year career as a member of the Spotswood Police Department, retiring in 2001, and was a member of the Spotswood PBA. He was also an active member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Helmetta and the church’s Order of St. Luke.
   He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara; three daughters, Nicole of Monroe, Marie Elena McDermid and her husband, Bill, of Ipswich, Mass., and Tina Anderson and her husband, Andy, of Wakefield, Mass., his mother, Mary (Tagliaferro) Amendola of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Julie Hatt of Orlando, Fla., and Josephine Van Buskirk of Henderson, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
   Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Helmetta. Internment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township.
