The Metuchen Public Library will present a concert of classical music for piano trio in the library’s community room, 480 Middlesex Avenue, Metuchen, Feb. 29 at 2 p.m.
The concert is sponsored by the Metuchen Public Library Board of Trustees Endowment Fund.
Members of the trio are Marjorie Selden, viola; Melissa Bohl, oboe and Donald Dolan, piano.
Marjorie Selden, violist, has played in the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico and the Orchestra of the Municipal Theatre in Rio de Janeiro, each for a period of two years. She is an active freelance musician in New Jersey and currently plays with the Newtown Chamber Orchestra, Delaware Valley Symphony, the Edison Symphony and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea. She is a faculty member of the Westminster Conservatory in Princeton.
Melissa Bohl is the principal oboist of the Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra, the Edison Symphony and the American Repertory Ballet Orchestra. She plays oboe and English horn with the Delaware Valley Philharmonic and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea and free-lances throughout New Jersey. She is a member of the Ocean Wind Trio. Bohl teaches oboe at the Lawrenceville School and at Westminster Conservatory in Princeton, where she is also head of the wind department and coordinator of the series Westminster Conservatory in Princeton. She has degrees in music from the Eastman School of Music, the University of Notre Dame and Princeton University.
Donald C. Dolan, pianist, earned his bachelor of music degree from Vanderbilt University and his master of music degree from the University of Michigan. He won piano concerto competitions at both schools. His interest in modern music has led to coachings with Pulitzer Prize winners William Bolcom and Leslie Bassett. Most recently, Dolan was a winner of the Artists International New York Debut Auditions. His debut at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall was on March 3, 2003. Dolan serves on the faculties of Westminster Conservatory in Princeton and Temple Music Prep in Philadelphia.
