WEST AMWELL Dr. G. Robert Muller Sr., 78, died at his home in West Amwell Thursday, Feb. 5.
Dr. Muller was born in Philadelphia.
He came to the Lambertville area in the early 1950s where he established a private veterinary practice, which became the Amwell Animal Hospital.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Muller worked closely with the local municipalities coordinating rabies vaccination clinics and assisting the local animal control officers with the sheltering, placement and medical care of stray animals.
He also worked as a health inspector for the State of New Jersey from the early 1950s until retiring in 1977.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., and his veterinary medical doctorate from the then-University of Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
He was a first lieutenant with the Army, serving with the occupational forces in Germany from 1950 to 1952.
A member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rotary Club, he served as president twice and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for his longtime serve to the Rotary.
He was a member of the American Legion Toscanni Post 120, the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7921, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Benevolent Protective of Elks and the Masonic Lodge, all of Lambertville.
An avid reader, he enjoyed deep sea fishing and his Tuesday evening poker game.
He was the widower of Jane Hillis Badger Muller, who died in 1975, and son of the late Edward F. and Lillian Stocker Muller.
He is survived by two sons, George R. Muller of Lambertville and Mark R. Muller of Dublin, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne H. Muller and Roswell S. Coles of Beaverton, Ore; three grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward F. and Eleanor Muller of Pottstown, Pa.; and his longtime companion, Anita Lush and her sons, Adam and Jason Lush of West Amwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville, with the Rev. David Errickson of Old Rocks Church of West Amwell officiating. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
American Legion and VFW services will be held 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

TRENTON Margaret M. Petercsak, 83, died Friday, Feb. 6, at home.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident.
In earlier years, she held various positions at a haberdashery, The Doll Factory, The Cigar Factory, Roebling Wire and General Motors.
She was involved in Saints Peter and Paul Church. She was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Rosary Society, Young at Heart Seniors Club and St. Cecelia Society.
She was a member of the First Slovak Catholic Ladies Association and The Slovak Community Home.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna Buchko Margicin Sr.
She was the widow of William J. Petercsak Sr., mother of the late Barbara M. Tyner, sister of the late Joseph J. Margicin Jr., Andrew A. Margicin and Mary Pelce; grandmother of the late John T. Tyner IV and mother-in-law of the late Michael A. Morales Jr.
She is survived by her son, William J. Petercsak Jr.; a daughter, Diane M. Morales of Ewing; her grandchildren, Barbara Ann Harrill and her husband, James Harrill, of Lambertville, Jennifer Lynn Tyner of Trenton and Kristina M. Morales of Ewing; her great-grandchildren, John T. "Jake" Tyner V, Nikayla, Sharlyn and Kiana Harrill and Amaya Tyner Self; two sisters, Elizabeth C. Czap of Trenton and Susan M. Verzilli of Fullerton, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Kutch Funeral Home, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the church in Trenton. Burial was in the church cemetery in Hamilton.

TITUSVILLE Betty Lou Groves, 69, of Titusville died Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Mercer Medical Center.
Born in Morrisville, Pa., Mrs. Groves resided in Titusville for 48 years.
She had been employed by Westinghouse in Trenton, Comptometer and H&R Block, Trenton.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles G. Groves Jr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Lou Groves and Thomas Miller of Columbus, Ohio, and Pattie Lee and William Curtiss of Ringoes; five grandchildren, Ryan Groves, Adam Charles Miller and Angela Anne, William Patrick and Jonathan Louis Curtiss; one great-granddaughter, Sarah Curtiss; and nieces and nephews.
The service will be held 10 a.m. today (Feb. 12) at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington. The Rev. John C. Belmont will officiate. Burial will follow in Harbourton Cemetery.
