To the editor:
I am delighted to announce my candidacy for the South Brunswick Board of Education.
My children have been privileged to begin their formal education in South Brunswick, and all three daughters presently attend three individual schools.
As a certified school social worker employed in Mercer County and as a consultant for the state Juvenile Justice Commission, I know that learning is indispensable.
As all of South Brunswick’s children prepare for the many challenges ahead of them, as an elected school board member I will work diligently.
One goal is to work to ensure that all of our students enjoy access to the educational opportunities essential for their success. Although the South Brunswick clearly provides a strong educational foundation for our children, our high school SAT scores could be "stronger," and student achievements improved.
I salute all the school administrators, educators/teachers, staff and employees for their commitment to South Brunswick’s students and community.
With the rapid school expansion, higher property taxes, increased social problems and climbing enrollment, preserving South Brunswick’s quality of education will be challenging. I am proud to be a resident of Monmouth Junction. and ready to prove my leadership skills, demonstrate my knowledge of educational issues, commit my time and energy to the students and to all the citizens of our great school district.
