Two-month long investigation ends with charges

Police have charged a Manville mother and son team with possession and intent to distribute cocaine, Ecstasy, steroids, mushrooms and Special K after seizing $17,800 worth of the drugs from the pair.
The charges against Michael Godden, 22, of South Main Street and his mother, Claudia Zarrillo, 45, of South 21st Avenue were announced Wednesday by Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest.
"As a result of a two-month long narcotics investigation, a Superior Court issued search warrant for two locations was executed in the Borough of Manville by detectives of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Manville Police Department and K-9 Unit," Mr. Forrest said.
Police said they seized approximately 5 ounces of cocaine, 275 Ecstasy pills, 2 ounces of psilocybin (mushrooms), four 100 ml vials of Ketamine and two vials of steroids.
Police put the street value of all of the drugs seized at about $17,800.
Three scales, drug packaging materials, and $1,615 in cash also were seized from the two locations, police said.
Mr. Godden was charged with first-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, second-degree possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of Psilocybin with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of Ketamine with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of anabolic steroids, third-degree possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), and disorderly persons possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Mr. Godden’s mother, Ms. Zarrillo, was charged with first-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, second-degree possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of Psilocybin with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of Ketamine with intent to distribute, and disorderly persons possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Bail for Mr. Godden was set at $30,000 and at $5,000 for Ms. Zarrillo. Ms. Zarrillo posted bail Wednesday was released. Mr. Godden remains at the Somerset County Jail.
