Old Bridge Library schedules programs

The Old Bridge Public Library Main Branch, Route 516 and Cottrell Road, has scheduled a variety of upcoming events.

The Old Bridge Library Mystery Book Discussion Group will meet at 7 p.m. on March 17. The group will discuss "Dead Man’s Hearts" by Aaron Elkins. Topic for the April 21 discussion will be "Ten Little Indians" by Agatha Christie. For more information, call Marcy at (732) 721-5600, ext. 5034.

A meeting of the Gardening Club is set for 7 p.m. on March 17. Participants will trade secrets and tips, plan visits to gardening centers and more. Remaking the library’s garden and trading plants will be discussed. New members are sought. Call (732) 721-5600, ext. 5033 for more information.

"The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway will be the topic at the next meeting of the library’s Original Book Discussion Group meeting set for 7 p.m. on March 18. A discussion of "Lord Jim" by Joseph Conrad is on tap for the April 22 meeting. Call (732) 721-5600, ext. 5033 for more information.

Individuals who are interested in learning more about family history are invited join the library’s new genealogy club. The group will meet at 7 p.m. on March 24. For more information, call Jennifer Sherman at the library’s Laurence Harbor Branch, (732) 566-2227.

A meeting of the Science Fiction Book Discussion Group is set for 7 p.m. on March 25. Topic will be "A Fire Upon the Deep" by Victor Vinge. A discussion of John Wyndham’s "The Day of the Triffids" is set for April 22. Copies of the books will be available at the circulation desk.

The Coffeehouse Board Game Club of Old Bridge will meet at 1 p.m. on March 27 and April 24. The club concentrates on classic board games, but community members are welcome to bring in a wide variety of games for everyone to try. Individuals of all ages are welcome. The library asks that participants bring their own games, if possible.

The Savvy Seniors discussion group will hold a meeting at 10:30 a.m. on April 13. The group meets every month in the library’s large meeting room to discuss previously selected topics. Lunch dates and trips to Broadway shows, movies, etc., are scheduled throughout the year.
