A student at St. Joseph’s High School reported the theft of a cell phone valued at $180 from a back pack at 10 a.m. March 17.

Police arrested and charged Zach Simon, 31, Metuchen, with driving while intoxicated at 1:04 a.m. March 16. Simon was pulled over in a 1987 Dodge Ram pickup truck at Main Street and Elm Avenue after allegedly weaving around a parked police car and hitting another parked vehicle.

Police charged Robert Gresh, 51, New Brunswick, with criminal mischief after he allegedly punched out the front window of the Crystal Clear Laundromat on Amboy Avenue following a dispute with the owner at 2:37 p.m. March 12.

Police arrested and charged Michael A. Harsch, 52, Rahway, with driving while intoxicated at 10:48 a.m. March 15. Harsch was pulled over at New Durham Road and Oliver Street in a 1992 Toyota Corolla for an expired license plate registration sticker. Police allegedly found an open bottle of vodka in the vehicle and learned Harsch had been listed as a missing person.

Two incidents of criminal mischief were reported March 14. At 10:13 a.m., eggs were reported thrown at a vehicle parked on Hillside Avenue. At 11:17 a.m., eggs were reported thrown at a Pleasant Place residence and at a vehicle parked there.

Edison

Six laptop computers valued at a total of $12,900 and two designer purses were reported stolen from employee desks at a Raritan Center office at 1:30 p.m. March 15.

Police arrested and charged Kevin McPartland, 26, Edison, with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:20 a.m. March 13. McPartland was allegedly observed by police driving erratically in a 1999 Kia Sephia on Route 1 and was pulled over on Old Post Road. McPartland reportedly drifted in and out of consciousness while in police custody and was transported to JFK Hospital for treatment.

An act of criminal mischief was reported at 9:30 p.m. March 15. The passenger side of a 2003 Toyota Camry was scratched with a foreign object and the rear bumper dented while parked at the Menlo Park Mall. Total value of the damage was $500.

A pair of headlight assemblies valued at $1,000 were reported stolen from a 2003 Nissan Maxima parked at the Menlo Park Mall at 4:35 p.m. March 14.

Police responded to an act of burglary to a motor vehicle on South Main Street at 3 p.m. March 14. According to reports, the driver-side window of a 1995 Honda Civic had been pried from the door frame and a Kenwood AM/FM radio and CD player, a 12 inch speaker, an 800 watt amplifier and a DVD player, total value of $860, were reported stolen from the vehicle.

A brick was reported thrown through the rear windshield of a 2002 Nissan Sentra parked on Grove Avenue causing $500 in damage at 8:20 p.m. March 13.

An attempted theft of a 1992 Lexus 400 parked at the Menlo Park Mall was reported at 9:45 p.m. March 13. The passenger door and ignition locks sustained approximately $500 in damage.

A 1995 Acura Integra valued at $5,500 was reported stolen from the upper parking deck of the Menlo Park Mall at 9:05 p.m. March 13.

The hood of a 1990 Audi 100 parked in an Oak Tree Road lot was reported pelted with eggs, causing $300 in damage, at 7:15 p.m. March 13.
