Featured artist chosen for month of April

NORTH BRUNSWICK — The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services’ Gallery of Art will feature the work of resident Sudha Kasukhela for the month of April.

Kasukhela has been painting and displaying her work since she was a child, but just started displaying her work in solo exhibitions in September. Although the artist has no formal art training, she enjoys experimenting with different mediums and has worked with watercolors, oils, colored pencil, and acrylic.

Her medium of choice is watercolors.

"I love deep, vibrant color that has a potency to bring life to the artwork," Kasukhela said.

Kasukhela does not attribute her work to one specific category or genre; instead, she finds it to be emotionally driven and unplanned.

"I follow my feelings, my inspirations, my dreams and create a unique piece that stirs up joy in everyone who sees it," Kasukhela said.

A reception honoring the artist will be held April 26 from 7-8:30 p.m. The reception is open to the public.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
