As part of May as National Older Americans Month, the Middlesex County Department on Aging will sponsor two upcoming Birthday Bash Luncheons for senior citizens over age 90.
The first event is set for 11 a.m. on May 13 at the Piscataway Senior Center, 700 Buena Vista Ave. A second celebration is planned for 11 a.m. on May 27 at the Old Bridge George Bush Senior Center, Route 516 and Cottrell Road.
County seniors who have passed their 90th birthday will be the guests of honor. Traditionally, approximately 130-160 seniors attend each luncheon.
Caregivers also are invited. A few spots remain open.
Local senior citizen choral groups will provide entertainment. Students from the Sayreville War Memorial High School student council will help serve and assist in other ways at the Old Bridge event.
Seniors in need of transportation to the celebrations should check with their local senior center or with the facility in which they reside or call the county’s Area Wide Transportation System at (800) 221-3520.
