Donald C. Dilts
Donald C. "Jake" Dilts, 80, died May 14 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Hopewell, Mr. Dilts was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Dilts served in the U.S. Army. He was trained at Camp Hood, Texas and he and his outfit were sent to Italy, where he served with the 36th "Texas" Division through the winter campaign around San Pietro and Cassino. With liberation of the entire central sector of the Italian peninsula, members of the 753rd Tank Battalion, to which Mr. Dilts belonged, were awarded several citations including The Croix de Guerre, with Vermilion Star, and a Silver Star for gallantry in action.
Mr. Dilts worked for Rockwell Manufacturing Co., Hopewell, for 28 years and for Johnson and Johnson in Skillman, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Hopewell Valley American Legion Post 339, Hopewell Fire Department and Emergency Medical Unit, Montgomery Township Senior Citizens Club, and the Hopewell Leisure Club.
Preceded in death by his parents Claude and Sarah Dilts and a brother John Dilts, he is survived by his wife of 55 years Eva Dilts; a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Hart Cromwell, and a son D. Scott Dilts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church, East Prospect Street and Princeton Avenue, Hopewell.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Calling hours will be tonight (Monday) evening from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell.

Roberta N. Silvestri
Roberta N. Suzanne Johnson Silvestri, 68, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton.
Born in South Plainfield, she resided most of her life in Hopewell Borough. She was a hair stylist for many years before joining the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co from which she retired after 27 years of service. She also served over a decade as a poll worker for the Mercer County Board of Elections, and as a part-time clerk for Quick-Chek.
Daughter of the late James R. and Nettie R. Johnson and sister of the late James E. Johnson, she is survived by her husband of 47 years Stephen A Silvestri; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan M. and Richard J. Liggett of Stockton and Michelle A. Wolf of Wilton, N.Y.; a granddaughter and her husband, Jacqueline A. and James P. North of Port Orange, Fla.; a granddaughter Valerie A. Wolf of Wilton, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law Robert W. and Patricia Johnson of Chatham, N.Y.; a brother Samuel Johnson of Easton, Pa.; a brother-in-law Stanley Misiolek of Hopewell; a sister-in-law Barbara E. Johnson of Pennington; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Church, East Prospect Street and Princeton Avenue, Hopewell.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Thomas F. Grillo
Thomas F. Grillo, 56, died May 12 at his home in Pennington.
A lifelong New Jersey resident, he lived in Metuchen and Lambertville before moving to Pennington over 11 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969. A Vietnam War veteran, he served with distinction in the Air Force Elite "Flying Forklift" Squadron. After an honorable discharge, Mr. Grillo graduated in 1971 from Trenton State College before attending Rutgers School of Law in Camden from which he graduated in 1973.
After clerking for Mercer County Judges Daniel O’Donnell and Wilson Noden, he became an assistant Mercer County prosecutor, after which he worked alongside former state Sen. Joseph Merlino. He also worked for the state Attorney General’s Office, Continental Insurance and more recently, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank in Manhattan.
A Civil War aficionado, he started and coached a girl’s soccer team, the Hopewell Twisters.
He is survived by his wife Susan Burns; three children, David T. Grillo of Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael D, and Juliet M. Grillo, both of Pennington; and an uncle, Daniel Credidio of Trenton.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today (Monday) in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Trenton. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Elizabeth Baker
Elizabeth "Lib" Baker, 91, of Pennington died May 13.
Born in Pennington, she had lived in the Pennington-Hopewell Township area most of her life.
She was a former employee of the Hill House Restaurant and was an active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, serving on the Altar Guild and the Sewing Guild.
Wife of the late Edward N. Baker Sr., mother of the late Jane E. Hilton and Edward N. Baker Jr., and grandmother of the late Virginia Hilton; she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Donald Matthews of Belle Mead and Mary Linda and Thomas Wyckoff of Hopewell; five grandchildren, Donald W. Matthews Jr., Leslie Orsini, Scott Baker, Kimberly Vanatta and Kelly Wyckoff; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fawcett of Doylestown, Pa.; and five great-grandchildren.
Requiem Eucharist was celebrated this morning (Monday) in St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Pennington, with the Rev. John Belmont, rector, officiating.
Interment will be in Harbourton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington.
