The Old Bridge Rams Pop Warner football and cheerleading organization will hold sign-ups for boys and girls ages 5-14 at the clubhouse, located on Marlboro Road. Sign-ups will be held June 2 from 6-9 p.m. and June 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A printable version of the registration is available at the Web site www.obrams.com.

The Old Bridge Predators, a U10 boys travel soccer team, will hold tryouts at Ticetown Fields in Old Bridge on Monday from 6-8 p.m. The team is going full-sided next year as U11 and is looking for talented soccer players to expand their roster. Residency is not required. The Predators are a Premier team in the MOSA league. They have gone undefeated for the last three years. The Old Bridge Soccer League’s 40th anniversary picnic will be held on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Ticetown Fields (Ticetown Road, Old Bridge). The picnic is in appreciation of all the players, parents, coaches and volunteers whose efforts have combined to make the league a success for so long. The league has invited the mayor of Old Bridge as well as the members of the Township Council and the superintendent of Old Bridge schools. Families can enjoy the Extreme Bunjee Challenge, Giant Slide, and Tiger Bounce (inflatable activities), tunes from a DJ, a magic show, face painting, and tattoos, friendly pick-up soccer games throughout the day, and food by The Grill Master. Local vendors and league sponsors have donated baskets which will be raffled during the day. The MLS MetroStars will also be represented at the picnic.

The U12 Sayreville Lady Blue Devils won first place in their flight this year in MOSA with a 3-1 victory over the Monmouth Coast Mutiny on Sunday. The girls were led by the strong goaltending of Emma Murray and two goals from Staci Jankielewicz and one goal from Sarah Barnes. The defense was led by Emily Roshetar, Alyssa Amabile, Rachel Harning, Alyssa Stetson, Jorden Nolan and Shawna Rodgers. The strong midfield play was led by Dani Hogan, Jaci Chartier, Steffi Pagano, Lanie Andrews, Nicole Holzapfel and Brianna Heatai. The Lady Blue Devils are currently 7-1-1, with one game remaining and no team able to catch them.

The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Nine-Hole Golf Association’s May 6 outing. The game played was "all irons — full handicap, leave woods at home." South River’s Joan Hoskins won the A Flight with a 43. Monroe’s Joan Semen won the B Flight with a 41, followed by East Brunswick’s Alice Rich (42), Edison’s Terry MacAllister (46) and Edison’s Bobbi Block (48). Old Bridge’s Diane Del Masto won the C Flight with a 38, followed by Monroe’s Madeline DiMaria (44). Del Masto, Piscataway’s Rosanne Marosy and Semen all tied for fewest putts with 17.

The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association 18-Hole Group’s May 18 Modified Peoria Tournament (best three each; par threes, fours and fives, minus handicap).

Carolyn Meyer won Flight A with a 32.5, followed by Ann Lin with a 32.5 and Charlotte Casey with a 33. Rita Reisert had low putts. Linda Weintraub won Flight B with a 27.5, followed by Muriel Feniello with a 32 and Tres Wist with a 32.5. Claudia Homoki had low putts. Helen Jo won Flight C with a 31.5, followed by Perry Pernice with a 36 and Judi Weinberg with a 38. Terry Massaro had low putts.

The Knights of Columbus Boxing Club in South River will hold its Amateur Boxing Night on Friday, starting at 8 p.m. Weigh-ins are at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for ringside and $10 for all others, and are available at the gym or by calling Dennis Cronin at (732) 246-1518 or Ron Brown (732) 251-1597. Among the boxers scheduled to fight is Rick Romero, the former heavyweight wrestler from Rutgers University, who is making his boxing debut.
