MONTGOMERY — Ellen Kerns Nunn died Saturday at home. She was 58.
   Born in Newark, she lived in Montgomery Township for many years.
   Throughout her career, she was a teacher of English, most recently at Hillsborough High School.
   Previously, she taught at Memorial High School in Elmwood Park, Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair and St. Rose of Lima School in East Hanover.
   A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, Ms. Nunn received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Montclair State College.
   Daughter of the late Thomas Arthur Kerns and Catherine Hallahan Kerns, she is survived by her daughter, Susan Stalter of Pennington; grandchildren Arthur and Aurora; and dear friend Elaine McGrath.
   A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
   Visiting hour will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

HIGHTSTOWN — James Avery Worden, 92, died May 14 at Meadow Lakes. He was 92.
   Born in Philadelphia and a former Princeton resident, he was a graduate of St. Paul’s School and a 1935 graduate of Princeton University.
   He left Oxford University when World War II broke out to serve as an ambulance driver for the American Field Service.
   Subsequently, he joined the Free French Forces and served in North Africa, the Middle East and Europe, where he was captured in Alsace-Lorraine and became a German prisoner of war.
   Honored by the French government, he was one of only four Americans to receive La Croix de la Liberation, the most famous French decoration of World War II, which was awarded to him by Gen. Charles de Gaulle.
   Private services were held.
   Arrangements were by Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown.
