The Spirit of Princeton Committee is inviting the public to cheer along during the annual Memorial Day parade on Saturday.
The parade down Nassau Street, from Princeton Avenue to Princeton Borough Hall, kicks off rain or shine at 10 a.m.
The program wraps up with a ceremony at the Battle Monument at Borough Hall at 11 a.m.
Brig. Gen. William K. Monk III, the deputy commanding general of the 1st Brigade of the 78th Division at Fort Dix, will be the keynote speaker and parade marshal.
Several veterans and historical groups will march including the American Legion posts 76 and 218, Vietnam Veterans United, the Princeton Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Princeton Pettoranello Sister City Foundation and Greater Southern New Jersey Korean-American Association.
Princeton agencies and organizations marching in the parade include the Princeton Borough and Princeton Township police departments, the Princeton Borough Police Color Guard, the Princeton Fire Department, Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Princeton Soccer Association, Princeton Boy Scout Troop 88 and 43, Princeton Cub Scout Pack 43 and Princeton Girl Scouts.
Two Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps groups will march in the parade Trenton Central High School JROTC and Pemberton Township High School JROTC.
The parade will also feature performances by six musical groups including Colonial Musketeers Fife and Drum Corps of Hackettstown; MacGregor Pipe Band of Ivyland, Pa.; Burlington City High Blue Devils, Burlington; and Hightstown High School Rams Marching Band.
Antique cars and a brigade of kids riding bicycles are also fixtures of the Memorial Day parade.
The Spirit of Princeton is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring civic pride and citizen involvement in the community through the sponsorship of observances on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day.
