To the editor:
On behalf of the South Brunswick Public Library and the teens who work and volunteer here, I would like to thank everyone who made our first ever Teen Appreciation Brunch a success.
This brunch was a way for the library and the community to say "thank you" for all of the hard work the teen staff and volunteers do every week. I cannot say thank you enough times to those businesses and individuals who helped me make this program a success; The Friends of the South Brunswick Library, Dunkin’ Donuts, South China Restaurant, the new Stop & Shop on Route 1, and to the many staff members who baked and contributed.
The library is happy to have such a large population of teens who appreciate and help the library by volunteering. They enable us to offer programs, such as our Homework Buddies Tutoring Program or the South Brunswick Puppeteers, without charging patrons or costing the library any expense. Our shelving volunteers and pages have worked hard to ensure that the materials are put back where they belong, thus enabling staff to focus on helping patrons. I am also proud to say that no matter what the task, big or small, I can always count on "my kids" to help out with cheerfulness and enthusiasm.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful staff, with such a helpful Friends group and the best group of kids anyone could ask for. Thank you to one and all.
