Mrs. DeSanctis, 97, died May 25 in San Giovanni Teatino, Italy. Born in Silvi, Italy, she immigrated to the United States and resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Red Bank prior to moving to San Giovanni Teatino five years ago. Mrs. DeSanctis was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Vincenzo DeSanctis, in 1991; a son, Alex, in 2002; and a daughter-in-law, Julia, in 2001. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Benito and Yone DeSanctis of Citta St. Angelo, Italy, and Dino and Romilde DeSanctis of Hazlet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leda and Remo DiBlasio of Red Bank, and Elsa and Vincent Capella of Toms River; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Rita Elizabeth Harrison Oberdick
Mrs. Oberdick, 88, of the New Monmouth section of Middletown, died June 3 at home. Born in Newark, she resided in New Monmouth since 1954. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. She was also a member of its Over 50 Club, Wednesday Lunch Club, and Middletown Bridge Club. She was predeceased by her husband, William Oberdick, in 1962. She is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, William J. and Barbara Oberdick of Cleveland, Ohio, Ronald J. Oberdick of New York City, James and Jan Oberdick of Middletown, Robert and Barbara Oberdick of Bridgewater, and Michael J. Harrison of Ocean Grove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen M. and John Byrnes of Washington, D.C., and Patricia Ann and Thomas Connolly of Red Bank; a sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Robert Tanner of Princeton Junction; a brother, James Harrison of New Port Ritchey, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Susan M. Hughes
Miss Hughes, 50, of Middletown died May 27 at Care One at Holmdel. Born in New York City, she was a lifelong resident of Middletown. She was employed at AT&T, Holmdel, for 18 years before her retirement. Prior to that, she taught school in the Middletown school district for seven years. Miss Hughes was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2179 Women’s Auxiliary, Port Monmouth section of Middletown, and an 18-year member of Special People United to Ride (SPUR), Colts Neck. She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Mary MacDonald Hughes. She is survived by a sister and several aunts, uncles and cousins. James E. Eccles
Mr. Eccles, 83, of Old Bridge, formerly of Keyport, the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen and Matawan, died May 24 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was a chemical operator with Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for more than 25 years. His wife, Evelyn Boos Eccles, died in 1995. Surviving are a son, James Eccles Jr. of Parlin; a sister, Josephine Lenz of the Toms River section of Dover; and two grandsons. Services were under the direction of Cremation Services of Central New Jersey, East Brunswick.
Gustavo Adolfo Noguera II
Mr. Noguera, 84, of Keyport died June 1 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jinotega, Nicaragua, he moved to the United States in 1962. He was a self-employed businessman for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was predeceased by a son, Rodolfo Noguera, in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria H. Mr. Clark, 72, of Hazlet died June 2 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Passaic, he resided in Asbury Park and Fair Haven prior to moving to Hazlet in 1994. He was an appliance salesman at A&S Stores, Eatontown, for eight years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that, he was employed at Anderson TV and Appliance, Red Bank, for 10 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by a son, Richard J. Mr. Della Pietro, 82, of Hazlet died June 5 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Matawan, he was a lifelong resident of Hazlet. Mr. Della Pietro was a tile foreman at Adco Tile Co., Keyport, retiring in 1975. He was predeceased by a brother, Fred Della Pietro. He is survived by four daughters, Doreen Chapman of Malta, N.Y., Dody Swaffer of Kingsland, Ga., Toni Burger of Newton, Pa., and Dina Marie Sansone of Brielle; a son, Anthony Della Pietro of Jackson; three sisters, Phelomena Bottiglieri of Keyport, Anna Pardue of Eatontown, and Rachel Allocco of Holmdel; two brothers, Anthony Della Pietro of Marlboro and Frank Della Pietro of Holmdel; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
