Area residents complete academy’s basic course

The Monmouth County Police Academy recently held its 67th graduation of the Basic Course for Police Officers. The basic course is offered twice a year and consists of 19 weeks of intensive training, with graduates gaining full police powers upon completion of the course.

Area graduates were Bryan P. Dougherty and Daniel J. Campanella of the Rumson Police Department; and Michael J. Monahan, Marco A. Rodrigues and Joshua J. Wagner, all of the Long Branch Police Department.

Additionally, Dougherty received the Academic Award with a score of 97.22, and Monahan received the Physical Fitness Award with a score of 96.72.
